How are researchers engaging patients in research?
Patient engagement frameworks are used in multiple research spaces. However, motivations for their use and intended impact remain unclear. We are seeking to identify the current frameworks that guide researchers in patient engagement.
We are interested in what models exist to provide guidance on how researchers engage patients in research. We are conducting an interpretive synthesis of the literature to see what is being said about patient engagement and what types of frameworks, guidelines, tools, and models exist to guide and support patient engagement.
Our research questions are:

- What frameworks, models, tools, and guidelines exist to guide researchers in engaging patients in research?
